BOARD & TRAIN
Traveling Dog Trainer offers a program to teach your dog to be very well behaved in a home environment! Training one dog family at a time, Lauren immerses your dog(s) in her own home life, since most dogs struggle with manners that living in a kennel just can’t teach. Lauren’s home is in East Dallas, and in her large backyard there is a menagerie of animals for your pooch to experience, including our dogs, turkeys, chickens, sheep, and goats!
Spending enough time in board & train is crucial for behaviors and obedience to become really ingrained in your dog. This is especially true for adult dogs, who will likely spend a few days pining for home and you! Once your dog's behavior has formed into habit, it is much easier to transition back into your home while maintaining the new skills. To aid in your dog’s permanent success, Lauren will come visit for quick in-home sessions to teach you what your dog has learned. You will also receive the Loose Leash Logic Basic Training DVD for long-term reference!
Dogs must have proof of vaccinations or titer results.
You must email the signed copy of the service agreement & liability waiver (that you can download here) before your dog is dropped off with Lauren.
It is your responsibility to drop off and pick up your dog along with his regular food and bowls, and we also recommend bringing his bed. Your dog will need a harness (step-in and “gentle leader” harness styles are not appropriate for training) for obedience work as well as his regular collar and leash. Lauren raw feeds her own dogs, so special diets and medications are no problem! She can even transition your dog to a raw diet during her stay if you would like! She will obtain the food your dog needs at cost!
Member Special Boarding
If your dog has completed at least the Basic Training, Lauren offers boarding in her home. There is a $50 pick up/drop off fee per stay, and a $60 per dog per day boarding fee. Your dog(s) will need to bring their own crate, food, and food bowl, along with a leash.
Basic Board & Train: $4250
Designed for potty-trained dogs at least six months old, this three week program is not suitable for dogs with severe anxiety, fear, or aggression issues (dog has never bitten a person or been in a dog fight, is approachable by strangers, and doesn’t have separation anxiety). In Basic Boarding, we implement whatever house rules you prefer (i.e. allowed/not allowed on furniture), and will ensure your dog learns behaviors such as appropriate chewing, barking, not to jump on people, remaining calm in exciting situations, mealtime etiquette, and social skills with other dogs. Basic training involves loose leash walking, sit until released, stay until released, and come until released. All commands use a hand signal. Any training equipment you may need such as a long line and the Basic Training DVD are included! Lauren will visit three times for a half hour to follow-up in your home.
Puppy 101 Board & Train: $4450
We tailored this training program for puppies up to six months old that are not fully potty trained. Usually puppies aren’t fully vaccinated until 16 weeks old, which can be risky in a boarding facility with lots of unrelated dogs. At Lauren's home, your puppy will only be staying with your dogs and hers, however, at least one round of vaccinations is necessary. This three week program implements whatever house rules you prefer (allowed/not allowed on furniture, etc). This course will also ensure your dog learns potty training*, appropriate chewing, barking, not to jump on people, remaining calm in exciting situations, mealtime etiquette, and social skills with other dogs. Lauren takes puppies on small socialization outings (not to places frequented by unfamiliar dogs) to ensure they are comfortable in various situations as they grow. Basic training, which involves loose leash walking, sit until released, stay until released, and come until released is also included, and all of the commands even use a hand signal! This program includes the Basic Training DVD and any training equipment you may need, such as a long line. Lauren will follow up with three half hour in-home sessions to be sure your puppy succeeds! ***not all puppies can be 100% potty trained in 3 weeks, but should be reliable if a schedule is maintained ***
